In all areas of life, I am a “fixer.” If there is a problem, I will pursue a solution. If someone is hurting, I will offer comfort. If there is a need, I will do my best to meet it. I think it’s safe to say most women are like this, but feel free to disagree at anytime. So, I suppose, becoming a massage therapist was a no-brainer for someone like me. However, the more I learn about this industry, the more I realize that I can’t fix anything…emphasis on the I. I have learned that everything in life is a team effort…things get fixed, problems get solved, and pain goes away when there is a collaborative effort by those most interested in seeing change. You can be the most gifted massage therapist, chiropractor, etc. on the planet, but if your client doesn’t fully participate in his/her own healing process, nothing changes.
The entries in this blog are for the client. Learn new stuff…ask questions…pursue finding out why your body does what it does. I won’t fix it, but I’ll certainly work with you so you can.
